Soyabean Processing Plants

Soyabean is a very important cultivable crop in India. Increasing health problems have developed the awareness of using unsaturated fatty oil. Soyabean contains about 18 % oil and the meal which remains after removal of the oil contains a high quantity of protein. Since this meal is an excellent source of protein supplements for human as well as animal consumption, we have developed Soyabean Processing Plants which can scientifically extract the nutritional components from it.

Soyabean received from the farm contains trash, sticks, sand and damaged and broken seeds. The beans are cleaned in the cleaner, thus removing all the foreign matter. The beans are then passed through the destoner and then to the cracking mill. After cracking and dehulling the meal is subjected to conditioning. Live steam heating is used to raise the meal's temperature to above 70o C and it is then moistened to about 10 % in the conditioner to impart the plasticity which is a prerequisite for making the crisp flakes. The conditioned beans are then passed through the flaking rolls of the flaking mill. Due to the high pressure between the flaking rolls, flakes are formed which have a thickness of about 0.25 mm. The flakes are then fed directly to the solvent plant; alternatively, the flakes can be further processed through an integrated expander system. Expanding the flakes to form collets helps to increase the throughput of the solvent plant and control the ureas which are harmful for consumption. The meal received from the solvent plant is processed in the meal processing plant where it is ground to size and bagged.

Window Wipers for Ships

Window wipers are specially designed to withstand sea water corrosion and demanding working conditions on the high seas, particularly in times of severe winds and storms. The units are sturdily built to withstand gun recoil shocks. The equipment is generally supplied for use on the E.C.P., F.O. Bridge and Flyco in a totally assembled condition along with the fractional horsepower induction motor required for it. The unit can be switched on to high speed or low speed as required from its control box. The frame is made of Navy grade aluminium extrusion materials to withstand sea weather.

Garbage/Food Disposal Unit

The Garbage Disposal Unit is used to dispose off all types of food waste except metallic and plastic materials. The food waste mixed with water is pulverised and then pumped out into the waste line. The unit essentially consists of a SS tank on to which pulveriser and pumping units are fitted. Water is supplied to the machine at a constant rate and pressure. The level of water in the tank is controlled by a set of solenoid valves and pressure switches. The food waste is dumped into the hopper through the inlet. The pump sucks water and food waste through the pulveriser. When the waste passes through the pulveriser it is cut into small fragments by the action of the rotating impeller and stationary cutter ring fitted in the pulveriser.

A cutlery saver fitted inside the hopper prevents metallic objects which accidentally come into the machine from entering the pulveriser head and spoiling the impeller. A system of pressure switches and solenoid valves ensures automatic operation of the machine. The machine is driven by two electric motors, one for the pulverising operation and one for the pumping action.

Pneumatic Message Transmission System

One of our outstanding innovations is the Pneumatic Message Transmission System for transmitting information from a ship's radio room to the captain's cabin and vice versa. This system consists of a cupronickel tube connecting the Main Communication office and the bridge through which message carriers are transmitted by means of reversible pressurised air flow. This is created by a 3-stage Turbo Blower which creates pressure or vacuum in the system dependent on the setting of manually operated reversing valve. Thus, a paper message (put inside a cartridge) fed at one end takes hardly a few seconds to get physically transmitted to the other end. Presently used aboard special ships, this type of system has varied applications in hotels, banks, offices and even factories for carrying samples and test reports for process control.

Turbine Flow Meter - For Liquids And Gases

Spectoms manufacture a complete line of flow meters and test stands for the measurement and control of flow of liquids and gases. Spectoms products are built on accuracy, high standards of quality and performance. We also provide callibration services for flow callibrators, traceable to National Bureau of Standards, USA.

For measuring the rate of flow and total flow of any gas or liquid with the highest accuracy and repeatability, these turbine meters are fitted with electronic readouts.

The basic principle is that a freely suspended rotor in a flow stream turns at a velocity directly proportional to the mass flow rate. Accordingly, the rotational speed of the rotor is displayed digitally in engineering units of flow. Within a given range this relationship is linear and thus the meter can be callibrated for a given liquid at given operating parameters. The flow rate corresponds to the revolutions of the turbine rotor.

MAIN FEATURES

ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENTATION

Analog and digital flow rate indicator and totaliser, frequency counter and controls for batch process.

FLOW CALLIBRATOR CORRELATION SERVICES

The purpose of the correlation is to adjust or determine relative accuracy of a flow callibrator as compared to the National Bureau of Standards, USA. The correlation will be performed at installation site using transfer standards callibrated at the National Bureau of Standards.
